Exercise with Oxygen Therapy (EWOT)
Cordell E Logan, ND

This therapy was developed primarily to help the brain, which in turn, helps the whole body. The cerebellum part of the brain is involved with body balance and coordination, and is the part of the brain that needs the most oxygen. The cerebellum controls the spinal muscles. As we age the brain gets less oxygen so this therapy can help bring back our youth. The brain demands at least 20% of the body’s oxygen supply. Dr. Stephen Levine states that oxygen deficiency is the single greatest cause of disease.

Along with proper nutrition, exercise, mental training, body electrical balance, oxygen therapy can be a great aid in many health issues.

The EWOT system was developed by Manfred von Ardenne (1907-1997) of Germany. He held some 600 patents and at age 15 he received the first patent of an electronic tube with multiple systems in a single tube with applications in wireless telegraphy. In the USSR he developed a table-top electron microscope. Associated with the idea of oxygen enhancing the brain is a system researched by Dr. Ten Carrick and others (a book from one of his students is What Do You Do When the Medications Don’t Work? by Dr. Michael L. Johnson). This involves the importance of the left and right sides of the brain as related to body conditions.

Studies have shown that oxygen helps:

● Stimulate brain activity ● Increase memory capacity ● Boost concentration ● Develop stronger alertness ● Raise energy levels ● Improve strength ● Build endurance ● Detox your blood ● Reduce stress ● Calm anxiety ● Alleviate tension headaches ● Remedy irregular sleeping patterns ● Help with cardiovascular activity ● Prevent lactic acid build up ● Strengthen the immune system
Reports from using EWOT show it has helped many conditions, including:
● Neck pain ● Back pain ● Headaches ● Sciatica ● Vertigo and dizziness ● Fibromyalgia ● Degenerated spinal discs ● Heart failure ● High blood pressure ● Support in cancer ● Emphysema ● All kinds of stress ● Wellness and anti-aging
The clinical procedure is usually done by using an oxygen concentrator along with an Upper Body Ergometer. This is like a foot bicycle but is used for the arms (many can also be used for the legs). Generally a session is at least 15 minutes in duration and most need several treatments.
